Step-by-Step Guide: Using Gel Wax for Candles
1. Prepare Your Workspace
Ensure all containers and tools are clean and dry. Gather your gel wax, wicks, fragrance oils, dyes (if desired), and decorations.
2. Cut and Melt the Gel Wax
Cut the gel wax into small pieces for easier melting. Use a double boiler and heat to 180–200°F (82–93°C). Stir gently to prevent air bubbles. Never melt gel wax over direct flame.
3. Add Fragrance and Color
When the wax is fully melted, add fragrance oil (3–5%) and gel-compatible dye. Stir gently for even distribution. Avoid vigorous stirring that can trap air bubbles.
4. Set Up the Wick
Attach the wick to the bottom center of your container using a wick sticker or a small dab of hot glue. Keep the wick centered with a wick holder or skewer.
5. Pour the Gel Wax
Allow the wax to cool slightly (around 175°F / 79°C) before pouring. Pour slowly down the side of the container to reduce bubbles. If adding decorations, dip them in the hot gel wax first to prevent trapped air.
6. Let the Candle Cool
Allow the candle to cool naturally at room temperature. Avoid moving or shaking the container, which can cause bubbles or uneven surfaces.

- Limit fragrance load to 3–5% to prevent cloudiness.
- Only use heat-resistant glass containers.
- For layered candles, pour each layer after the previous one has partially set.
