Make sure all your tools and containers are clean and dry before starting.
2. Cut and Melt the Gel Wax
Cut the gel wax into small pieces for easier melting. Place it in a double boiler and heat slowly to 180–200°F (82–93°C). Never use direct flame—gel wax can scorch if overheated. Stir gently to avoid creating air bubbles.
3. Add Fragrance and Color
Once the gel is fully melted, you can add your fragrance oil (about 3–5%) and dye. Stir slowly and evenly. Avoid overmixing—too much stirring can trap air bubbles in the wax.
4. Prepare and Place the Wick
Attach your wick to the bottom center of your glass container using a wick sticker or a dab of hot glue. Secure it with a wick holder or stick so it stays centered while you pour the wax.
5. Pour the Gel Wax
Let the wax cool slightly to around 175°F (79°C) before pouring. Pour slowly and steadily down the side of the glass to minimize bubbles. If you’re adding decorations, dip them into the hot gel wax first before placing them in the container—this prevents trapped air.
6. Let It Cool Naturally
Allow the candle to cool completely at room temperature. Don’t move or shake the container while cooling, as this can cause bubbles or uneven surfaces.

- Use zinc or cotton wicks—they burn well in gel wax.
- Don’t exceed 5% fragrance load; too much oil can make the wax cloudy.
